Not exactly true. Some people, especially those who lost their jobs or had their income cut by the Covid, qualified for special hardship payments, also they introduced what they called Jobkeeper payments for were people were working reduced hours the Government paid the employer to make their money up. There have been reported problems of some employers pocketing the money and not passing it on. Also some people living in remote areas qualified for a payment to stock up on supplies because of the disruption to transport.
