I recall reading About Gerrard's Sough, not particularly close to Ashton, so I wonder if they had acquired parcels of land discontinuous from that which we usually think of.

Having said that, there is also Gerrard's Bridge .Did a Gerrard commission its construction?

I believe Perry Bridge took its name from Alderman Perry, which in turn led to people calling this portion of Park Brook by that name also. So, slippery things these names, willing to detach and reattach to other bodies.
