Places   (Help with places, streets and buildings in Wigan.)

Apparently, there's a confluence of two brooks under Carr Mill Dam, somewhere, laaaaike, and the brooks were boundaries of three named places. Ashton in Makerfield was one, I think Billinge another and, possibly, Windle (?, might be Parr (?)). But, there's a lost part of Winstanley there too. Somewhere.
We had some land (family, raaaaight, not me personally!) which some said was in Haydock. Others said it was in Blackbrook but that's not a real place (although it is a councillor ward). Some call it Pewfall. The land registry, who should know their arses from their elbowses about that sort of thing, have it down as being in Ashton in Makerfield.

I do know the head leaseholder of all the land to be the Gerard title as I (personally, raaaaight!) had to pay the said "title" quite a sum of money to have residual covenants removed. That went to the 'trustees of the title' which, conveniently for some, happened to be a Jewish law firm in Westminster!
