That's right Brian, I worked on the haulage in L.12. when I first started. I was wondering how far we walked in a shift. So, if we did two runs, after the walk down L.3. that would add up to 8,700 yards per shift, plus the length of the Florida shunt. Now if the belts weren't running at traveling time that would add another 700 yards up L.3. And if we missed the rider, another half hour stroll to the pit bottom. I should have been a postman.
