This morning I have been wrestling with a female Blackbird that got stuck in some netting I use to keep the cats off my veg patch, She was very distressed and fought tooth and nail , We both rolled about in the soil and netting and, I knew I had to free her of all the netting if she wants to fly properly, the netting was entangles round her head, wings and feet, She pecked at me vigorously as I kept a firm grip to cut away the netting and took quite a few minutes until I finally freed her of all the netting , Then I placed her on the ground and she took off like bat out of hell, She never looked back, not even so much as a ' by your leave' A wonderful moment in the day and, now I'm thinking of protecting my veg patch in other ways,
