Like the former poverty ridden East European Communists States, Spain was brought up to better standard of living by the big four EU states of France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom.

Plus of course, the holiday industry where again, we are one of the biggest contributors to their economy!

As a result, Spanish companies like Santander now own British companies.

We paid and they prospered!

And people questioned our coming out of the EU!
