I did, for a wee while, try an app which claimed to show which mast/antenna the device was getting its signal from.

I do not know how accurate it was.

It did sometimes surprise me: showed I was getting signal from a more remote mast rather than one close by.

I think there are too many users for the available capacity, which could explain this. They have erected more and more masts, quite close to each other, but I think there is still a capacity bottleneck.
