I can never find myself enjoying 'musicals'.

Not being negative, I know other people do enjoy them.

I tend to enjoy a film which 'transports' me, meaning that for the duration, my own reality/ambiance is suspended, and I emote as if I am in the context portrayed in the film. ie I temporarily buy into the fictitious reality.

Such an experience is killed stone dead if the cast suddenly burst into song and dance routines!
