Wigan Flight has been given a prestigious Green Flag Award!

This Friday, it’s 205 years since the Flight, and the entire length of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal, was officially opened.

The date 22 October 1816 is commemorated on Britannia Bridge.

Bridges and the 23 locks of the Flight are Grade II listed: historicengland.org.uk
