you just hit the nail on the head there roy. sports would and should be played in schools....problem is two fold
(1) the gov is selling them off to land developers
(2)the ELF AND safefty brigade says its to dangerous for the kids,..they could get hurt. the politicaly correct brigade, not to be outdone, stepted in with this one...it isnt good for a child to come second-or last...it would have a regressive effect on their development as they grow older.
is it any wonder, the scale of natural born brits emigrating away from this country, is on the increase year on year.my youngest daughter holidays in aussie every year. she says any were you go down at the beach, there is weight training gear there for your use, and sport is encouraged from a very early age. its like that in the states, you can be as thick as two short planks, but if you have a sporting gift, then that is all you need to go on and get the qualifications anyone would need
. just the oposite here, it seems to me and a lot more people, if we win at anything, its because the other guy, or the other team was having an off day.its become part of our psych to be runners up. thats the way i see it anyway.
