Yes. Whilst not necessarily condoning strikes (I have mixed feelings on this topic), I do recall that a series of strikes by rail workers, power workers and such like, witnessed miners coming out in sympathy. These groups then failed to reciprocate when it was the miners out on strike.

Neither justifying, nor condemning this. I genuinely do not know which view is the most honourable stance to take.

I am merely recording my recollection of how things were.
