The number of people content to live on the benefit system has gone worse since the cheap labour policy of the minimum wage.

Decent employers paid what they consider to be a good rate to get the best person for a job, but now all they do now is pay the minimum wage which was a good thing for the minority getting below the rate, but a bad thing for the majority earning above the rate who had their better paid contracts ripped up and given a new one on a take it or leave it basis.

The result being a constant turnover of labour, a example of which is Royal Mail which was never the case when in the public sector.
