OC: Agreed. We should indeed sort out the benefit system. Tax credits to people in work? In other words, businesses paying low wages and the tax payer making it up with credits!

I hear people saying "we need docors, nurses, teachers (what kind of education when english isn't their first language) bring in the migrants." But who is going to pay for their training? Medicine courses are vastly over subscibed already, schools are bursting at the seams.

Our nurses have to have a degree and rigorous training, the migrants coming in as nurses, for example, don't come near our standards for qualification.

I just read that Labour say they will negotiate with the French about the illegal migrants, but we are paying them £millions to do that and they're doung nothing.
