Tom, two mates in Spain arrived last week, they'd come over from Oxford in Robbie's van, using the Portsmouth to Santander ferry.
They'd brought a "used dinghy" with them, complete with small outboard engine, for using on the river.

They got pulled over,on arrival at Santander, and were charged €270 "import duty" on the dinghy.

I asked them, "did you get it cheap off a group of blackies at a motorway services near the south coast" ?

Anyroadup, it's just been on t'telly, Shell, Esso and BP have announced fuel shortages and have blamed it on panic buyers. "It's going out faster than it's being delivered to us. Due to the shortage of lorry drivers". "The UK needs 90,000 hgv drivers to meet demands"!

Well, there's just over 1,500 petrol and diesel delivery tankers registered in the UK. There's more now than there's ever been but the same now as there's been in the last two years.
They've managed quite well over the last few years but now they want 90,000 extra drivers, for 1,500 tankers? That's 60 drivers per tanker!
