SARS-CoV-2 vaccines in development

Vaccines for SARS-CoV-2: Lessons from Other Coronavirus Strains

Vaccines are developed from existing 'platforms'.
These are a pre-designed 'starting point' which scientists develop and use for new vaccines against same family viruses.
The Covid 19 vaccines being used now were made from existing "Classic Platforms" obtained by continuous development.
This explains it!
