I mooted the re opening of the station a few years ago. I was told the lines on the inactive span would need to be re laid at the cost of millions to make the project a starter. Sounds logical, but it would be a massive help to the local traffic problems. There is some land, at the moment, around the site that could accommodate a park and ride scheme. I think quite a few of Dr Beechings closures could be revisited in the near future.
