Beautiful pics.

I love the one of the tiny tree growing on a stump surrounded by water.

I have a feeling it is growing from the stump as opposed to having taken seed there. It is a sign of re-birth.

Just reminded me we have a peach tree that blew down in a storm......it has regrown and is now bearing fruit again..........yes I would call it rebirth......

A young male Walrus has pitched up on a beach on Orkney. They are usually found in the Arctic Ocean - it is extremely rare for them to be found so far south.

Belting pictures.

But, I found the giant ray picture quite sad.

Seemed a shame that such a creature should be killed. I had a google and found that it was accidentally caught on an anchor chain.

The coastguard shot it.

Dostaf - I was wondering about the Ray myself - it looks as if the baby wouldn't have survived either - what a sad story.

Reminded me of those tales of old lobsters getting caught.

Sentimental, I suppose. But I feel that after living so long, they deserve to survive.

Awww - now that's a nice story. I get upset reading about animals - probably more than about humans, don't know what that says about me.

Carla Lane the script writer for t.v.series BREAD has an animal sanctuary and has always had animal welfare at heart, she went into a restaurant ..I forget where.. and saw lobsters in an aquarium waiting to be boiled alive..she bought the lot and took them to the waters edge to freedom...I just love stories like that.

I like Carla Lane, Momac. Good writer, and a good person.
She gave her OBE back because of her beliefs.

That last pic looks as if the forest is coming alive - as if the sun is waking it up.
