Wigan council online account for reporting faults

Started by: PeterP (11297)

At this time of year the shrubs and bushes are getting plenty of growth on them . I reported Branches covering the filter arrow on a set of traffic lights in Ashton and reminded the council that this has been reported for the last 2or 3years and asked could the offending bush be cut down to stop this happening year in and year out. I got a job number but also part of the reply was if it was not overgrown vegitation the report would not be looked at and would be closed Whats the use of reporting something to the council if they are not going to do anything about the problemSent formal complaint to the council

My main serious complaint about WIGAN COUNCIL is the horrifying state of the road network in and around the borough.. One that is so dangerous i just don 't know how there has been no one killed yet , and that is down POTTERY ROAD just past Nissan Garage as one nears the first set of traffic lights there are 2/3 POTHOLES and they are smack bang in line with the cars near side front wheel ,, you CANNOT avoid hitting them ,but has i say there are many, many thousands more on our streets and it's HIGH TIME THIS COUNCIL GOT THIS SORTED ........GB

Talking to a guy at a tyre fitting centre other day and he is happy to a certain extent about the state of the roads in and around wigan ,ie pot holes and the road humps ,in as much he has never had so much work as a result of those thing 's mentioned ,he has a hell of a lot of cars coming in to have their "tracking" repaired this he beleives is due to pothole's and humps damaging the cars but has he said he is not complaining its more money for him...gb

On the 18th May I reported a deep rut approx 5ft long in the carriageway at the Bird In Hand Hindley.Deep enough to throw a cyclist off is/her cycle. A inspector so called found the pothole and said it would be filled in within 14 days.Job so called done Reported it again on the 21st June and it still has not been filled in .It is not hard to find and when you drive over from Liverpool rd to Market st it feels like you are driving over a cattle grid

I go across there every day and have reported the very same one. Although, for Liverpool Road to Market Street, if you stay in lane, rather than cutting the corner, you don't pass over it.

What do you expect from our council…hopeless and Nandy as well…

Nothing to do with Nandy. She's the MP for Wigan constituency, the pot hole is in Hindley, which is in Makerfield.
Actually, that's worse ...... Yvonne Fovargue!

But, if it was in Wigan, it's still nothing to do with the MP. It's council business!

Peter P:

If the foliage is covering part of a traffic light, then there is a strong likelihood that an accident might occur which would then become a Police matter.

I wonder if it would be worth reporting the problem to the Police who might take it up with the Council? It's at least worth a try.

Mollie M I have gone down the road of asking one of my councillors to chase the releviant dept to sort it out . Next they will has" part of the deal "ask me to cut the offending branches Or they will not bother and wait till autumn when the leafs fall off the branches
