"That 175 Million on the euro lottery tomorrow "
But would it change you?
Replied: 10th Dec 2020 at 19:09
I would use it to fund a return to the days of flower power, love and happiness , dog licences, lock-ins, a triumph spitfire and rabbit stew
Replied: 10th Dec 2020 at 19:17
I may need the underpants a bit sooner than World Peace.
Replied: 10th Dec 2020 at 19:30

Replied: 10th Dec 2020 at 20:30
Terry I would have more fun giving it away.... Not in wads of cash... I would ask what the charities/needy/organisations want... Then supply it. Stop the admin/middlemen taking their slice in "Fee's"
Replied: 11th Dec 2020 at 10:40
Me too, bb, have much greater pleasure by helping other people/charities.
Replied: 11th Dec 2020 at 11:23
Didn't there used to be someone on here who gave a large portion of his off time to charities?
Replied: 11th Dec 2020 at 11:36
BB if I won the euro millions None of the top charities would get a red cent off me.It is time they started spending their millions and in some cases Billions which they have in the bankI would source local good causes and buy items for them but would not give them any money . Over the years I have bought items for hospitals by asking them what they required then paid for the items. Told a long time ago do not donate any money because it gets swallowed up in the system and you never find out where it is spent

I think it was that very popular big lad wot left wasn't it. He also helped many people on WW with IT queries and problems, a very nice man all round.
Replied: 11th Dec 2020 at 18:08
Ah, knew I hadn't dreamt it. A smashing chap by all accounts.
Replied: 11th Dec 2020 at 18:27

Was it Dick Barton? Those were the days. A shed full of fall outs but no lasting animosity. To all those that survived those Friday nights, Merry Christmas, and may all your Pernods be doubles.
Replied: 11th Dec 2020 at 18:44
if you had that kind of money then you could open your own foundation charity like Captain Tom and the put your daughter as the payed director
Replied: 12th Dec 2020 at 06:21
Oh Dick Barton a gentle soul he was, kept himself to himself and enjoyed the banter when he'd loosened up after a brandy or two. Liked building models I recall, tanks and military vehicles.
Replied: 12th Dec 2020 at 09:41
Very true FF. WW is sadly lacking such people now.
Replied: 12th Dec 2020 at 09:42
My wife says she'd like to open a perfumery if she won millions and release a top of the range perfume several times a year that would outsell the others.
I said I would like to help her with that but she refused and said I release a fragrance of my own all to often.

Now that it was posted, yes I remember the name, but as a major contributor to wigans no1 site, there are "some people" I don't remember until they get mentioned.

You didn't answer my question about Worm.

Replied: 12th Dec 2020 at 12:55

How do I know it was you? It was in your name.
You need a good memory to remember all the lies you have told, you clearly don't.

My one personal Christmas present is actually a combined one; the sort that everyone could contribute to...
Resurrection of the Commercial Yard, Moot Hall, Old Arcade, Old Market and the bobby back at the top of Wigan on point duty!
Then my New Year resolution would be to create a George Formby museum that would guarantee an influx of visitors and income into the town... and really put us on the map.
Replied: 16th Dec 2020 at 17:07
JR,on the Nothern news it keeps showing different towns being empty, they all look like Wigan town centre..and why, because we've lost our own character, why can't the powers that be see what they've done to our lovely town.
