Emergency services/Local press

Started by: PeterP (11291)

I have noticed lately than when ever there is an incident requiring the Emergency services that the press are reporting not only how many vehicles are sent to the incident but also the number/type of personnel involved? Is there a hidden agenda to this? I have commented in the past about some excessive use of vehicles/persons attending incidents while some other times people have to wait hours for Emmergency vehicles?

Like the ten or so police vehicles and fifteen police officers who were sent to assist Wigan council and court bailiffs in evicting a couple of Irish travellers from their illegally set-up site in Ashton?

For a few years now they've been telling us what kind of car was a a crash.
Yes they might tell you how many vehicles are sent to the incident and how many personnel but I think thats just to make the story a bit longer, what they should be doing is asking questions and report on the nitty gritty of what was going on.

Today WEP reported a body has been recovered from the canal at Wigan. At least 5 police cars 2 rapid response vehicles 2 ambulances and 2 fire engines attended the scene. What a waste of man power Does a Doctor have to attend to say the man is dead?

They could have taken him to the nearest doctor's surgery and a doctor could have pronounced him dead there. Technically, an ambulance isn't supposed to transport dead persons.
