Train Truckers (TV programme)

Started by: priscus (inactive)

I can understand why some of their loads could not travel the rails under their own power.

I am left wondering in many cases though why they are not being hauled as a rail freight item.

For example, today's (re-broacast) of Plasser Tamping machine.

From Austria, to the port of Cuxhaven, it has been rail hauled by a diesel locomotive, then the UK portion of its journey is road hauled! Why?

Is there far more wrong with our railways in the UK than is revealed by the gripes of travelling passengers?
