Starched shirts

What is that all about. I had to wear them in my early working life and I think I've been scarred for life.

Starched collars did nobody any good except give men boils on the back of
their necks.

There were some terrible ways of dealing with boils

My Mam used to put the old fashioned poultice on a piece of gauze..pop it
under the grill then put it on my Dads neck while it was hot..horrible..now
there's a little container that boots sell..it's put on as it is cold and it does a better job,no burning included.

According to Dostaf, a lanced boil doesn't matter.
