The strawberry plants are very sensitive to the dark:light ratio.

They will really take off now, and be fruiting in less than six weeks. Yummy.

Always a few try to fruit during these exceedingly mild winters which we have experienced. Have to remove blossoms on them, or they just rot.

I just wish it would dry out a bit. Am desperate to get on with pruning my roses. (Purple spot, so they need a therapeutic prune.)

But it is just too wet underfoot to walk on the soil, which just clings to soles.
