Bubble gum

It never really did it for me don't remember blowing one bubble.

I never produced good bubbles either, especially when they go pop

Mine nearly always exploded and ended up plastered round my mouth and nose.

Do you remember those woody liquorish sticks? great when you had a loose tooth to come out. Can you still get them? The liquorish not the loose tooth

Yes you can still get them.modtly in health food shops.I was tempted last week but I thought I might lose a. Pulled of fillings!

I remember as a kid getting some bubble gum from Nelsons at the bottom
of Wallgate ..chewing it and it went to nothing..isn't it funny,the things that stick in your mind from childhood.

As well as Beechnut I chewed Arrowmint, though I haven't chewed gum for a very long time as I had a crown put in and gum tended to stick to it, so I opted to suck on a Fisherman's Friend.

Can't remember the town centre pavements being full of spat out gum like how they are now, wonder if it was a different mix of gum back then, or was we environmentally friendly and put it in litter bins or stuck it under café and bus seats.

Aye, and he started that craze of using old tea chests as a double bass and pinching mothers washboard and thimbles to play your own brand of skiffle.

The machine outside our corner soldYZ chewing gum.It was advertised on the TVs or radio The jingle went" Buy some YZ chewing gum,smashing
you'll agree,every forth you get one more, an extra packet free". It was a penny a packet,Others machines I recall were Beechnut,two pence.and Wrigleys, a tanner
