Caravan winterizing

Started by: britboy (6794)

I backed in my caravan a few days ago to its overwinter parking spot, I had to pulled it out again today, I hadn't noticed a large dead cherry tree on the edge of the woods leaning towards my caravan.
Out with the chainsaw and down it came just where I wanted it to land, a good 30/40 feet of it.
Looked at the tree base, mostly rotted in the centre and eaten away with carpenter ants, they love cherry trees. A near miss for the caravan, disaster avoided

If any sound timber has escaped the rot, Cherry is a good fuel-wood.
