The women's team since Dennis Betts took over the coaching have beome better, faster, fitter and stronger and strenghen with some new signings to the squad.
From what we have seen so far this season, the tide has turned where the winning of trophies is concerned.

It would indeed as St Helens along with Leeds and York have had to much of their own way for far to long.
The pendolum is starting to swing the right way, the Wigan way!

To be honest i rarely look at this sports page now because it's all football. There used to be much more about rugby which is a shame. but good luck to our ladies on saturday. I am confident they can lift the tropy. Very pleased for Dennis too.

My brother in law would be delighted…he used to sing “here comes Billy with a Bunsen burner” to the tune of March of the Gladiators…they used to play that tune when Wigan were coming out of the tunnel at CP…50’s -60’s

I hope that Wigan supporters have noticed how well Ulaya Hanley is showing the same level of form at Leigh as he was showing in the Academy team at Wigan at the time Lam was Head Coach of Wigan.
Lam left and his form went downhill with the result that he was released, but when Lam became Head Coach of Leigh, one of the first signings he made was Handly as he obviously could see the future potential in him.
Another is James McDonald who after showing the same potential was released and straight away signed by Leeds and playing now playing so well that he has now been selected by Wade in his interim England squad.

Neither of those two would get anywhere near getting into the Wigan side and that's why they were released, along with many other players.

Where in my comment have I said anything about the two players being good enough to be members of the present Wigan first team squad, only that the two players concerned are playing good enough to be in the squads of Leigh and Leeds and one them having been selected for the interim England squad.
And yes, you right about Wigan releasing players considered not to be good enough for the first team squad, but in the fifty odd years I have supported the club, they also made a number of mistakes on occasions where players have gone on to greater success with other top clubs.

Do you know the reason that the board made the decision to release Long?
Because I do and it had nothing to do with Rugby!

All I am prepare to say is that it was not very nice and if you are a parent, you would understand the reason why the board made their decision!

ahcawntspeyk ‘’Neither of those two would get anywhere near getting into the Wigan side and that's why they were released’’
anyone who watches RL regularly would tell you that young James McDonnell would get a place in the Wigan second row - he's a great prospect who will one day grace a GB shirt and the NRL
and Wigan did not ‘release’ him – he signed a lucrative contract with Leeds whilst on a pittance at Wigan

Correct Wigvet regarding James McDonald who when playing in the Academy looked as good a back row prospect as Junior N'Semba!
