OLE'S TEAM SELECTION

Started by: GOLDEN BEAR (6555)

IT really narks me to say this but i strongly believe that OLE has got his team selection completely and utterly wrong for the visit of Leicester tomorrow night, surely to guarantee the second place in the league would have been to field the best full strength side he has available , then and only then if they could get the 3 points that would virtually gaurantee second spot then rest your squad against L/POOL and Fulham Next tuesday thats how he should in my view do BUT ????

Maybe he prefers Leicester in the top four than Liverpool.

alan he very rarely changes his team & because of it rashford has been playing injured & can lead to a more serious injuny futher on .

Leicester losing to Newcastle and United beating Villa over the weekend will have made up his mind concerning wholesale changes for the game.
A reversal of those results and a defeat to Leicester tomorrow would have put them above us, but that has now evaporated.
Makes sense to me to juggle tomorrow and go strong Thursday, but there's no guarantees either way.

He might be concentrating on having his strongest squad for other games.

He needs to freshen up the team for tomorrow.
I expect beeky ,matic ,bailly ,telles ,possibly tuenzabe
to start but he sees them in training and clearly its his call .

And that is the major difference between the Manchester clubs. The City bench has players that could get into the United first team but sadly none the other way. What about De Gea tomorrow?

If he blows it, he'll get a lot of stick!
If it all works out well, he'll be a hero!
We've got to wait and see.
Ole definitely sees more of his players than we do.
I'm leaving it to his judgement.
We all know that some players have bad games and some games are lost or won by one mistake.

True enough ianp.
The berties would take rashy and greenwood in a heartbeat .
No question about it ,
No one is seriously telling me that the pair of them woudnt be good enough to replace sterling for .
instance .
Do me a favour ..

Cloud cuckoo land Grim.

The worrying thing is, you probably believe that nonsense.

It's a bit like having a marginally attractive wife and being convinced that the local hunk wants to get off with her.

I would rather see us winning against Leicester and securing that second spot , and then rest the team after that for the final i think ole has got it wrong way round in wanting a strong team out against L/pool i mean i think Leicester will have an eye on cup final Saturday but then agin after and hearing Roy Keane he says to OLE stop whining and field your strongest side and i think i have to agree with him so i will be viewing tonights game hoping ....G.B

GB, why not field a weak team and let Leicester win then try and stop liverpool getting in the champions league, 90% of United fans would love that, who is bothered about second place anyway.

Moyes and klopp will be moaning if that happens,

I haven't seen the team for the Leicester match, but if I were Ole I would play my strongest team and try to sew it up. Then, concentrate on the European game in about two weeks.
I definitely can't see Man City blowing it at this stage.
Personally speaking, I wouldn't take the chance of getting any of my key players hurt in the Liverpool game.
But, historical rivalry might sway decisions.

you knew what kind of team it was going to be as well before the kick off leicester were favourites to win .

Actually, and this is 100% the truth, I didn't know. I didn't even know that Leicester were the favourites to win. Also, I didn't get the chance to see the game, so I still don't know the team Ole played.

If liverpool don't get into champions league because of this result it will all be worth while,

Ole the Kingmaker decided when and where title would be officially handed over.
He determined City wouldn't be celebrating on the pitch having just clinched it after a game, and made sure Liverpool wouldn't be turning up at the Theatre of Dreams on Thursday as reigning League Champions or in next seasons Champions League.

A win win win situation.

Only a bigger moaner than the two you mention and that is Guardiola.
I imagine the outcry if the c... team had to play a game every two days .
A master stroke from O G S last night.
Denying the dippers a C L spot .
Genius .

Ole tops the lot for moaning, last night he was whinging in the press conference that a corner was given instead of a throw in.

What an embarrassing cringeworthy spectacle it was.

He wasn't moaning, he was asked why he had made substitutions "at a corner".
He was pointing out that the ball had actually gone out over the touch line and he was under the impression that when that happens it's usually a throw in.

I have just been reading all these comments and whilst agreeing with some there are i don't, I know OLE has been griping about the way the fixture list has turned out well i think those united fans have to bear a lot of responsibility for their actions with regards to the L/pool game . But again having thought about it i have to ask this question which is ( JUST WHATS THE FUSS ABOUT)) when you consider it these so-called star players have nothing else to do only train ,eat/ they are treated better than race horses they have first class medical treatment not like us who have to wait month and months to see a doctor /hospital appointment , it's not like they work at a bloody machine on 12 hour shifts grafting ,, NO after they do a stint kicking the ball around and a bit of exercise their day is done off home to their rich pads so what if once in awhile they are asked to play 90 minutes every 2/3 rd day so what ???? they are supposedly supremely fit aren't they ??? I just wonder what the likes of GILES, LAW,VIOLET FOULKES/ CHARLTON ,BESTY AND ALL THOSE PLAYERS FROM YESTERYEAR?????? I WONDER ????G.B.
