I agree LG, I have no desire to see this happen.

However, it will make little difference to the armchair "fans". They will still watch the games on T.V. pretending that they "support" their team, irrespective of who they play.

They can't be bothered going to to a game now in trafford so why worry about going to one in Madrid?

lockdown has shown that the game is nothing without fans.as a season ticket holder of a premier league club i dismay that owners could contemplate this.Who can afford to travel abroad to support their team every other week.

Lockdown has actually shown that the game doesn't need fans.

The clubs haven't really missed you and me this season sonlyme.

The miniscule percentage of revenue that matchdays provide compared with sponsorship and TV rights will only become less significant.

As for travelling fans, you need only look at Spain where very few fans travel away to see that the product is only slightly diluted with only home fans at games.

Storm in a tea cup, nothing will happen all a ploy to squeeze more consessions from the present set up.
I do find it comical all the same that the bloke whos club struggle to get people in anytime having a pop at United concerning who turns up.

Sir Alex's actual quote was;
ā€œIā€™m not sure Manchester United are involved in this, as I am not part of the decision making process.ā€

Which was attributed to him nearly 24 hours ago so not long after the initial news broke and it looks like it was news to him as well, he'd have no reason to lie about it if he did know.
So rather than showing disrespect and letting your bitterness get in the way by putting the greatest manager of all time in the spotlight just because he knocked your lot off your "F...ing perch" why don't you have a closer look at your own Yankee owners who have also signed up to it!

Nothing but a money grabbing exercise by the greedy trying to pull up the drawbridge behind them.
This just about sums it up:
Joel Glazer... "By bringing together the worlds greatest clubs and players to play each other throughout the season the Super League will open a new chapter for European football ensuring world class competition and facilities.."
I doubt the bloke would know a world class player if he fell over one, and.. "worlds greatest clubs" ...three of those signed up from these shores have never won the competition they want to lock themselves into never to drop out.(And that seems to be the thing that has caused the biggest reaction and rightly so).
But who are the big 6?
Spurs haven't won the League for 60 years
Not that long ago Everton and Villa were considered big 6, just over a decade ago City wouldn't even have got a mention.
I still don't think it will happen though and they'll come back into the fold and have more money thrown at them.
It is more or less a Super League already in some respects with the same suspects (usually) at the top end each year give or take, and today one of the proposals from the Champs League was for a team who had not qualified being allowed in due to their coefficiant, so it was slowly turning into a closed shop anyway!

It's happening now and it will be next season ,,if not the coming season just watch this space ...........GB.

Erasing the record books is nonesensical, it has already been done and dusted in happier times.
And anyway the Football League didn't do anything to their records when the Premier League came along and gazumped them.
But there is growing noise to expel the remaining renegades still left in this seasons Champions League.
That's Real Madrid Chelsea and erm........City, just saying like.

City have taken the correct moral decision and decided not to join the American organised Greed Cartel.

So the English clubs left are a club who haven't won anything of note for almost a decade, a club who hasn't won anything of note for many decades, a club who hasn't won anything of note for almost two decades, and a club who although recently successful have slipped out of the top four after a brief couple of seasons at the top.

No self interest there then!

Well done City, once again the standard bearer for all that is good in football!

Hilarious Grim, you can see your club's empire disintegrating around your ears and all you can do is call liddle siddy to deflect from their enormous woes.

trafford need to create a closed shop cartel whilst they still have a modicum of credibility in the game. They are slipping further down the pecking order in all the traditional competitions and anyone under thirty doesn't remember when they were relevant.

As someone rightly said, trafford wanting to be in an elite super league these days is akin to me walking into the Crucible and putting 50p down on the table.

I said that Chatty was right

I'll tell you what I was right about TTS and I've been saying it for years;
Beware of Arabs bearing gifts.
Sick of hearing about what City are doing for the community, East Manchester this, new whatever that!
But yet again their mask has slipped and shown it really is all about them grubby selves.
Now the only right and proper thing to do is award PSG this seasons Champs League without another ball being kicked
The only one of the semi finalists left in the comp who did the honourable thing and didn't join "the club"
(The fact one of the PSG directors is also a director of the TV channel Bein sports so was against the new set up and stood to lose a fortune if the Super league did get going can be overlooked on this occasion)
When push came to shove the Arabs showed their true colours( yellow) and bottled it when told they would not be able to compete in the competition you can smell their desperation to win, and they caved in.

I have never disguised the fact that our owners are a bunch of shysters who genuine United fans have wanted shot of since the day they turned up.
And I have never tried to make out they were in it for some altruistic motive unlike some folk have their owners on here.
Spending Billions and years trying to tart up their sorid reputation only to shoot themselves in the foot big time really is a Gerald Ratner moment.
No qualms about United being kicked out of the Europa League, no need for us to win a European competiton as some sort of validation of being a big club, been there done it got the T shirt.

Well it goes to show that i know absolutely F *** A** ABOUT WHAT was going on ,i was utterly dumbstruck at the speed of the so-called super 6 revoking on their attempt to form a super league . I f BORIS is so wound up about then why doesn't he and his cronies take charge and get shut of all these greedy hypocrites should pass a bill and make it illegal for any football clubs to be owned by JONNY FORIEGNER . One more item up for debate is that if all these clubs are crying poverty then simply bring in a SALARY WAGE CAP and stop paying all these over-rated players exorbitant wages that i believe would be a step in the right direction also instruct SKY to share the money out more equal ie instead of the prem getting the largest slice of the pie ,, start from the other way round the second division ,then league 1 ,then the championship i think that's the fairest way of doing it ,but i think i'm talking from my A*se again so stay safe all ,.....GB
