maybe they can come up with a decent design for the badge instead of the costa coffee lookalike ? .

You could make that suggestion, Whups, but I don’t know whether they’d be up for changing it.

Whups,

On that, like I suspect many others in Wigan, I agree with you.

A few seasons ago when it was suggested that Wigan should have a new badge, the then Wigan Chairman Maurice Lindsay said that Wigan supporters should be proud to wear the Ancient and Loyal Crest of the old Wigan Borough on their shirts.

If they had to change the badge, the club should have asked its supporters to submit designs and I am sure that something better would have been produced even by the kids than the one they have got now.

jo anne,

Should be a sell out as not only Offiah was a outstanding player, but a nice guy who always was willing to talk to supporters as I found out when I met him in the players bar at Central Park.

And he still supports Wigan even living in a Union district of London.

Sorry Owd Codger, I missed your post in January. I watched Wigan in the late 80s/early 90s with my rugby-mad friend & her family. The game never gripped me until along came Martin Offiah sprinting down the pitch - brilliant! You’re right, from TV appearances I’ve seen he seems like a really nice guy as well.

Will not be long now before the start of the proper game!

No cheating, cynical tackles and lack of respect for match officials and obscene chanting like we see every week in the so called beautiful game of football.
