I use a little program called Irfanview

Fishy tale

Free of course -- very handy for altering photos, resizing etc

I made and saved a reverse image,[Horizontal Flip] then made a panorama of the 2 side by side

Also with Irfanview you can look at someone elses photo on the internet and see what camera they used and what date etc

From memory it was a tad fiddly to load but easy to use when sorted

I'm off to North Wales tomorrow so may not be able to post for a few days

Cheers Cordy.

I wondered how those pics worked.

Actually, what I was playing with was these two characters. I like the images and wanted to see them alongside each other.

I know Cordy

I put them on at 18:02

The reason I removed them was so as not to make this thread run slow. Also why I linked the pair in the previous post rather than do imgs.

I've put them (in all their glory) on Peawapps thread about Leigh.

Found it; try copying the formula below then paste to your 'notepad'
then use it as your template

just alter the width and photo details each time, that's what I do

This is a baby Blue Tongue Skink that I rescued from certain death as it was being eyed off as lunch by a nasty big Magpie....so I shooed the bird away and took the skink down the back under a shady tree and gave it a drink (30+ that day) The late Steve Irwin would have been really proud...........

Just learned soomething myself, Lizzie.

Usually when I put the address on, in this case http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o764/braeside5088/e4ce26af7218486a97b6777b23392261_zps3f4f7739.jpg

I don't use the quotation marks. " before and after "

You don't need them.

BUT:

If you are dictating a width, as mentioned on Cordy's first post, you need something between the end of the address and the

width=500 or whatever number/size you use.

So in this case I put the " in, just after the address

http://i1342.photobucket.com/albums/o764/braeside5088/e4ce26af7218486a97b6777b23392261_zps3f4f7739.jpg"width=500

Lizzie - I love your garden - it looks so natural.

What is the name of the trees at the bottom of the photo - there are four of them I think, very tall with drooping fronds?

I had never heard of a skink before - well done to you for rescuing it.

Fantastic pics Lizzie - they have made my day!

A beautiful sunny spring morning here, I'm making another start on the veggies after, and sorting out the last of the strawberries and then pruning the trees and bushes - having a bonfire tonight.

They are Cocos Palms and they are in the neighbours backyard Veg.....our block ends at the fence behind the lattice on the left of the pic. Our block is 60 feet wide and 240 feet deep, just think how many little boxes they will get on our block??? The mind boggles...

Practicing copy and paste with iPad

I have grafted my pear trees, I've a Williams planted into the ground, and a Conference in a pot. Grafted the Conference to the Williams, and vice versa. Hoping both are successful, and if they are, I may have a Conference pear tree to give away, as I won't need both.

Edit:
Very good, did it first time

I have grafted my pear trees, I've a Williams planted into the ground, and a Conference in a pot. Grafted the Conference to the Williams, and vice versa. Hoping both are successful, and if they are, I may have a Conference pear tree to give away, as I won't need both.

Worked for me too Cordy......

That is so true Cordy......My favourite Australian poet is "Banjo" Patterson....
"There was movement at the station for the word had got around,
That the colt from Old Regret had got away,
He had joined the wild bush horses.........."

The Man From Snowy River.....2 brilliant films.....the second one of course they could have cast someone else instead of Kirk Douglas....there were plenty of Aussie male actors to pick from.....

Got most of his work at home
Pity he was so fond of the grog
They... BP and HL used to have writing competitions in the newspapers

One of my books of poems--- In the days when the World was wide, printed in 1896 was worth quite a few quid when I looked a couple of years ago

Hi Cordy.....it is a very old term used mainly in the country....
When we left England for South Australia....we stayed in Kadina...which is in the copper triangle at the top of Yorke Penninsular consists of Kadina, Wallaroo and Moonta....
We were only there for one school term....in that time I got used to the country language and 'cobber' was part of it....from the word 'cob' to take a liking to....so that is the gist of it all....🐨

Cashmere Downs, West Australia; our pet Goanna - Monty.

We were prospecting for nickel; Around mid-day Monty would come round our camp looking for food, he measured 66 inches long We took the name Monty after the dog Montmorency in the book 3 men in a boat, there being 3 of us

Nice film Anne; we thought about that trip but unfortunately Ms Cordy isn't partial to the food served; eg Salmon

Someone put a lot of effort into making that video

I've just bought Sony Vegas Movie 11 editing software

Going to start using my old Canon HG10 camcorder

It requires patience and thought to make something nice like yours

Look

and here

Both rubbish and soon to be removed from Youtube

Going to Muncaster, Ravenglass, Cumbria tomorrow so might be out of 'net range for a few days

Cordy what do you mean your old HG10 it should be good? I use an HG21 and windows movie maker 6. Got to go now will post more tomorrow.

Only got Windows XP which will not handle Windows Moviemaker

Replied: 24th May 2014 at 23:26

It will cordy I used it all the time with XP. When I moved to windows 7 home premium it had the new version of movie maker in the windows essentials bundle. I went back to WMM sharpish.

Anne
With WMM I cannot load my Canon HG10 AVCHD M2TS files

Need to use the Canon disc to load files to Mirillis Splash Pro; a neat little program for easy viewing of raw footage

Replied: 30th May 2014 at 11:53

Posted by: Anne (4386)

I can't load straight onto WMM either I use Xilisoft , then I use Windows MM 6. I started with what I think was the original WMM and gradually had updates until the essentials package arrived which was rubbish now gone back to WMM6. I looked at the Vegas software and thought it looked very complicated.
p.s.did you video anything in Cumbria.

Good question Liz
It's the only storage space I could find
It was going to be a coffee table. All painted Gold with mosaic tiles on top
The mosaics; left over from recent bathroom project are nice but do not match

So now table will go in the garden; perhaps with a bird table attached using other surplus welding metal

For son's girl friend I made a Corian black cat double thickness with a nice clock in it; but didn't get a decent photo of it

btw have you been to the old garden centre on two mile stretch ? Not been myself but Mrs C went last week
