Looking for information

Hi all an looking to find some information about a man from Wigan that owned an Indian restaurant in the town in the 70s it was called the New Delhi his name was ronnie adhikary and his partner was Betty I've read a few things on this site about the place and it was very well known at the time , well the gentleman in question is my sisters dad she only met him once when she was 2 , our mam passed away a year ago and my sister would love to know if he is still alive or if he had any other children we live in the north east of England in teesside so dont know Wigan at all or would know were to start, so I'm asking on here if anyone would know anything i know my sister would be over the moon with any info thanks in advance

Hi I think the restaurant was 'sweaty bettys ' beltin after a night round Wigan t bone steaks and vindaloo , wonderful place. They used to live in Almond Brook I think in an old church , I will drive past and get the address x Notsure if Ronnie is still around x

The kohinoor (Betty's) was on Darlington Street near the police station which moved to Market Street in the early eighties.

Hi thank you both for your replies if you do know the address and if either Betty or ronnie are still alive I'd be very grateful as my sister could maybe write a letter

Last time I came across them they had a resteraunt in Southport but that's a good 25 year ago can't remember the details sorry
