sadly there are fewer and fewer posts and its the same on Wigan history

WW is certainly not the site it used to be. It does appear to be dying but I hope that is not the case.It used to be such a good site to be associated with.

Is it because the younger element have nothing to say since they have been born with a mobile phone glued to their ear. You see them leaving their front door with the phone or other technological gadget over their ear, oblivious to what is happening around them.

I prefer to put the odd post in the "Handbag" section, I find the general section too anarchic these days, life's too short for constant bickering. If there's a request for help in the "General" section, and I'm able to help, I'll post there. Otherwise, leave well alone.

Who remembers the old Wigan, circa 1950's and how does it compare to today's Wigan?

The old Wigan was magical..so much to do for everybody not just us then
youngsters..every shop you needed,you knew what you wanted without
Supermarkets telling you ..leave one job on Friday,walk straight into a new
one on Monday...go to the pictures or dancing etc without somebody
looking for trouble and getting blind drunk...and as for music..well say no
more,Elvis,Bill Haley.Bobby Rydel,etc..that isn't to say I don't enjoy today's
music,I certainly do..all kinds..but the 50s music I think was the forerunner
of all good music...all in all the 50s was a brilliant time to be a youngster.
