Hi Oliver. Yes, I went to Byrom's Commercial College in the early 60s when it was located just off that little street that runs down the side of Wallpaper Supplies. I started going on Saturday mornings when I was 14 learning shorthand, typing and English and gained my first certificates from there. Just after I turned 15 and left school they got me my first job with Gibson, Russell and Adler on King Street, which was just around the corner. I wish I could remember the main lady's name. It moved to Rodney Street after I left. I remember the old Police Station on King Street as well with the blue lamp hanging at the front. This was joined on to the original Court House. Is it still standing?

Yes Oliver, there was a Mrs Bolton but there was another teacher - I can't remember really - but I think it had
.....illingham at the end. Not Fillingham. I could be disremembering I suppose. Or was it Halliwell? Not much difference, I know, but that name just jumped into my head. Ah well, it was a long time ago, wasn't it. It's 43 years ago for me. Ouch!!!!!

Sadly Oliver I can't remember any of the students' names. I was a very quiet shy little lass back then and all I wanted to do was my studying.
