white hunter

does anyone remember the white hunter from pemberton? all the kids used to follow him but we was all scared half to death too

I know a lot of the Pem area but have never heard or seen the white hunter! Tell me more!

i remember the white hunter, think he lived in lamberhead road, his hair was as white as snow

I lived on lamberhead road till I was 4.......but it aint me lol!

The white hunter used to wear usually a pith helmet and he carried a black bag or briefcase and wore a dark jacket or sometimes a long coat. His hair was snow white and long like custer's when it was deffo not the fashion to have long hair. The kids used to follow him because of his scarey appearance and from time to time he would swing round with his bag and roar at us! Sometimes he would throw wrapped boiled sweets from his pockets but not often. I think he may possibly have been called Jones but not sure.

I remember, vaguely, someone we called White Hunter. Going back now late 1950's early 60's. Same time as the Quigley brothers were knocking about Pemberton. Mainly in the Billiard Hall.
