Skippy

Doe's anyone remember the chap who used to walk round Wigan market.
We called him Skippy,He always had a black brief case with him.
Why he was called skippy I dont know. I heard at one time that he was a Doctor Who had been struck off and was living rough in Wigan.

Yes, I remember him.....boy did he stink! It was a shame for him really, I used to see him taking food from bins...YUK!! They used to take him in somewhere every so often and clean him up. Wonder what happened to him!

god that brought back memories i am 32 but remember skip. Was trying to explain to my husband about skippy.
At school we got told that he was a 'drop out' after the ww2?
just hope skip got a decent ending?

my friend had a dog called skippy about 1968 named after the tv programme-went to a farm, i think - too boisterious, didnt speak though

If it is the same one, and I think it is. I know a gang of lads beat him up very badly one night. He died shortly afterwards. It was a shame really he never did anyone any harm.

if its the rite skippy he used to live in a old scrap van on are farm in hindley green years ago wen i was a kid scruffy he was wud live anywere always wheres a suit these day dunno were he lives but always see im walkin bwt in hindley m8s wi my dad if its the rite skippy
