Is winter here at last

Started by: aitch (5487)

About one hour ago I heard a funny sound went to the window looked out and lo and behold going past my front window lights flashing headlights blazing was the first gritter I have seen this year, does this mean that winter is officially here, and if so when is the price of gas going to go up again, saith me ,tongue in cheek ,don't want to be seen as biased towards the utility companies, but I am going to buy a supply of candles ,I seem to get as much heat out of them as I do from my gas fire and it is a lot cheaper

We had gritters around Pemberton also last night. Trouble was there was no frost or ice this morning. By the time the bad weather really starts they won't bother coming round.

I've got a coal fire and its lovely, mind you I better keep quiet about it or I'll have them unwashed friends of the earth coming round to ban it like they trying to do with all the coal powered power stations

Not the case here, officially summer doesn't start till 1st December but already we are getting temperatures in the high 20s and lower 30s,thankfully the are still cool. What we need is rain, plenty of it;it's all very well waking up each morning to clear blue skies but because of the drought, claimed to be worst in living memory, food and drink prices are climbing.
