BILL MURPHY
I'm trying to locate an old work colleague from Plessey Wallgate The last I heard of him, and that must be 40+years ago he was living in the Winstanley area and was a lorry driver I think???
He played for Leigh Miners and played against Wigan at Central Park in a Cup game in the early 70's.

I was once speaking to a chap who lived in a bungalow in Olive Grove at Beech Hill, and he was telling me that he played rugby for Leigh, and so I asked him his name, and it might have been the name you have mentioned, but that was quite a long time ago.

HI PLS No he didn't play for Leigh. He played for the Leigh Miners Amateur team. He married a girl around 1972? who lived in Scot Lane, about 100 yards up from Ormskirk road, At one time his parents were stewards of a Labour club in Leigh.
Maybe winnie can dig out the marriage info???
