Nowadays we have nationalist parties in Scotland , Wales and Northern Ireland. Plus the Liberals.
I doubt that anybody could form a workable coalition from such a collection.

Why would he call an election, the conservatives still have a massive majority in parliament, because to force a general election, the opposition, would have to table a motion of no confidence in the government, if the government lost such a vote, then they have to take the issue to the country, and a general election is called, but that is not going to happen is it.

Actually TTS, that was pointed out today. The civil servants are against leaving the EU and are deliberately undermining Boris. There were no pictures of Boris actually drinking, simply holding a glass. None of those civil servants were named, although identified, in Sue Gray's report, and fined, but I think they should have been named as well. If you name Boris, why not name the perps?

I believe the best thing for the country is for Boris not to resign and take it to the country with a general election and for the Tory voters to do the same as Labour voters did last time under Corbyn and have a protest vote and vote for the LibDems and the for the LibDems to enter into a coalition with Labour. This may then even take us back to the EU - its one of the agreements that the Lib Dems would sign with Labour.
