Sorry it's the audience who turn on the tories! And so they should.

It would be no different if Labour was in power as that is what the BBC want, the audience attacking the Government of the day to have a lively programme!

"it's the audience who turn on the tories!"

You are absolutely 100% correct there, in Question Time, as soon as the government person makes a comment, the audience turn on that person, and start booing, and if a Labour Party person makes a comment, then the audience clap and cheer.

Riocaroni

Do you know why that is ?

Well they are really showing their true colours now. When Boris was on the rack over Partygate, the BBC were all over the story every day. It was usually the lead item on their main news. Now the boot is on the other foot with Starmer and his Beergate, coverage or even a mention by the BBC, next to nowt. Biased Broadcasting Corporation.

On the other hand would it be right that a blackout of news on the BBC on the police raids on the homes of Tory Baroness Mone, alleged to have received £200 fast track dodgy PPE contracts.
They were all over the raids on Cliff Richards home!

I thought this topic was about the political bias of the BBC

The BBC raid on Cliff's house was an expensive mistake compounded by implicating South Yorkshire Police. Cliff Richard received £2 million in damages and South Yorkshire Police £315,000.

What, the same South Yorkshire Police who were involved in the scandal of Orgrave and the deaths of 97 people at Hillsborough.

Mind you, they did catch the Yorkshire Ripper, even it it was by accident!

She should stick to Antiques and Paintings, something she knows about.

Grimshaw,

You are indeed correct about action over Covid being held back because of the Cheltenham Race Meeting.

Cliff Richard was awarded £210,000 in damages.

He also agreed a final settlement with the BBC: around £2 million towards his legal costs.

He told the trial he had spent more than £3 million on the case, and following the final settlement was still “substantially out of pocket”.

Gaffer ,of course it was a mistake but my point was that they are biased in who they investigate.
And tts I think Grimshaw explained his point in the first sentence of his post!

The BBC is supposed to report the news in an impartial way ,but the Director General of the organisation is a Tory and appointed by HM The Queen on the recommendation of the government.
So perhaps the bias might be indicated by the origins of the people who oversee it.

Maybe, like the Police it is right wing at the top and steeped in freemasonry but if you look at the bottom, it is anything but right wing!

Fossil: The BBC used to simply report the news. When John Birt became Director General in 1992 he changed things. You might remember his comment about "blue sky thinking", but he said that the BBC needed to "explain" the news.
That opened the door for the likes of Laura Doomsburg and all the others that we've had, "political commentators". In other words, the plebs are too stupid to understand the news and need lots of overpaid people with their own views to indoctrinate, oh sorry, teach them how to think.

Did you actually listen to what he said, because I don't think you did, the same way you have never watched Nigel Farage on GB News, but consider yourself worthy of making comments about it.

I mean don't you get it do you, the world has moved on since the Harold Wilson days of the 1960s and 70s, today's Labour Party is nothing like it was back then, with the muscle of the unions behind it, financial and otherwise, Fossil, today is 2022, not 1972, which was 50yrs ago, I mean bloody hell, half a century ago, and I can remember it like it was yesterday.

But it was not yesterday.

I mean, you are not only a fossil, you are a dinosaur, you and that Whupsy are living in the past, well I am a dinosaur too, but I don't live in the past

John Birt was under the cosh as soon as he started at the BBC when it was revealed that he was being paid freelance via his company. His wife was a director and claiming two salaries and wardrobe expenses approaching £4000.

Just my opinion.
