Terry is very likely having Fish for Lunch and a Salmon Salad for Tea, Because today is Good friday and it is a catholic rule to, Not eat meat today,

I am C of E but all my life breakfast on Good Friday is toasted hot cross buns. Salmon salad for tea.

Because that's what they're called.

They are hot if you toast them and very nice they are too.
Good Friday menu for me was.
Breakfast. Hot cross buns
Lunch. Home made veg soup.
Tea. Home cooked. Fish, chips and mushy peas.

There is no sacrifice in abstaining from eating meat on Good Friday. It's respect for the sacrifice that Jesus endured to save us.
If you are a non believer it would mean nothing to you. But Easter is the biggest religious event in the Catholic Church.

Meal today roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, parsnips and carrots together with a glass of Pinot Gricho (think I’ve spelled it wrong). I’m not a drinker but when I’m getting my meal ready on a Sunday I always have a glass of sherry. I think sherry is an age thing. Tiramisu for pudding and who knows an Easter egg whilst watching telly. Happy Easter to you all and cheers.

linma, Do you make your own Yorkshire Puds, or buy them in?

I love Yorkshire puds.

I do not take milk in tea or coffee, so only buy milk if I expect having visitors.

So, usually, I have been buying ready made Yorkshire puds, as I do not have milk in stock for making YP mix.

I understand you can just use water (no milk). Opinions online differ concerning the quality.

I do not know if the pre-packaged YP mix product requires milk.

Have not got around to trying these latter alternatives, but I do feel better about making my own than buying the ready made.

Ena I'm the same no milk in coffee,I don't drink tea but always have milk in the freezer which I lift out a couple of hours before visitors

Ena, Yorkshire pudding was frozen but you can’t beat a home made one. When visiting relatives in Yorkshire, Yorkshire pudding with gravy was served first followed by roast .

Yes that is the Yorkshire tradition: Yorkshire pudding with (usually) onion gravy, served as first course.

Currently I live in Yorkshire. When I had family visiting (from Greater Wigan), and we were out to dinner, they expressed some doubt when I ordered YP as my first course. I asked the proprietor of the eatery to confirm to them that it was a Yorkshire Tradition.
She said, "Some of them order it for starters, for main course, and again for dessert"!

I would imagine a yorkie smothered in strawberries and cream would be quite nice.mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

So Lyme, each to his own but that doesn’t appeal at all. In Marks you can get hot cross buns with Marmite. Yuk.

My daughter bought some hot cross bun flavoured cheese. However not as nasty as it sounds. It actually looked like an hot cross buns, even had currants in. No far removed from eating cheese with grapes.

Back to Terry's tea time saga.
Last nights tea was chicken in home made Mediterranean veg in a home made tomato sauce, plonked on top of a bed of white and red Quinoa. Very nice it was too.
