Kevin is fine, he never stopped in the hotel although he got invited, He looked at the occupants and said, " I'll stay in the woods" ,

I know a girl who is a cleaner there.. Since it was a refuge for the homeless/asylum seekers/Immigrants hostel.. It has turned into a s***hole. It will need a fortune spent to bring it back... But apparently Wigan Metro are making a fortune out of it... Does that surprise you..?

Its not just Wigan annemarie, Its a nationwide if not globalwide disease of tolerance , no discipline and lackadaisy approach to the yoof of the World, It started with the ending of corporal punishment,
Spare the rod and ruin the child,

“But apparently Wigan Metro are making a fortune out of it... Does that surprise you..?”

The only thing that surprises me is how much attention people pay to rumours and how quick they are to repeat them.

What else do expect when they are coming from countries whose standards of living are like what they used to be in our country years ago.

Some of you need to visit some of the inner city districts of our big cities like Birmingham, Bradford, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham etc to see how life in many of the districts are now like what they were pre second world war.

How awful. I have stayed at the mercure hotel many times for my trips to Wigan and always found it comfortable and clean with friendly staff. Not been since covid erupted obviously and I must admit that I have wondered if it has changed in order to survive . The hotel at Standish has done the same and you can't blame them if that's the only way to survive , and I know it sounds snobbish, but if I am paying top price for a room do I want to be in a hostel for the homeless? is the Premier Inn running normally. I have stayed there too

I have been in the Premier Inn on Harrogate Street, and I think that they have done a marvellous job of turning the derelict concrete monstrosity, which was the police station, into a fine looking building[, but I suppose it was an hotel of sorts when it was the cop shop

The council wouldn't have undertaken such a renovation, they would have demolished it, and replaced it with something awful, the same way they won't renovate The Galleries, they are tearing it down and replacing it with flats

But that Premier Inn renovation, just shows how a building can be repurposed into something decent and worthwhile

Remember the money wasted on building of a tunnel from what was the Police Station to the Wigan Court building which only lasted around six years before the Police Station was moved to the "5 Star" new building on Robin Park Road?

Yes, but it was a 'special' tunnel, it was a magic tunnel, because it was a tunnel in the sky

TtS, Isn't the Premier Inn a newbuild? It looks nothing like the old police station at all. It did you write your post on 1st April?
