back to wigan next tuesday for the football.Can anyone recommend a decent place to eat before the game.

Fat Olives in Dicconson Street do a good steak.

Oh aye.

It's definitely better than Poole's pies. Gallimores isn't bad, not many good restaurants in Wigan town centre though.

All good place for good food Joe, otherwise it's pub grub usually microwaved leftovers from lunch time or the day before.

I think Joe knows that and pies or pasties are hardly Fine Dining which he wants TTS.

There is also an excellent Thai restaurant at the top of Hallgate. Not the cheapest place but definitely worth the money. Of course it depends on what type of cuisine you are looking for. A very nice Indian restaurant near the Springfield garages Woodhouse Lane. The Raj.

Fat Olives do a 2 course for 12 quid on Tuesdays all day and a good walk to the stadium.
Never had a bad meal there.

We like Fat Olives, Fossil.

Fat Olive always has the same menu's and on our last visit, was not as good as on previous occasions.

As for a steak, nothing like the Parbold Miller & Carter or Summat to eat in Hindley.

There are not many bakeries now, there used to be lots, our local one was Wilcocks in Hindley.
