Speaking of public transport ........

Started by: tonker (27914)

...... last month, I came into Manchester Airport (first time in a couple of years) on my way home.
No public transport was available, as it was after 11pm. So, we had to get a taxi at £60.
And I watched the taxi driver put 20 odd pound in the pick-up car park machine.

What a fraud!

Wouldn't you think, if they want to have a 24 hour operating airport, they'd provide 24 hour public transport along with it?

So, I'm going back on Friday and I'm sticking with Liverpool Airport, as usual, both ways.
I'll drive myself there and pay the £28 car parking fee.

I agree Tonks.... Another case of legalised thieving from Manchester airport. You should have rang one of your many mates to give you a lift home.!!

My best mate was with me. I rang two of my three sons, both said they couldn't come.
My mate rang one of his three sons, he also said he couldn't come.
He rang his mate, who is the taxi owner.
He said he was "ready for bed, lad"! but he'd come - for £60!
So £60 it was. £30 apeice !

A couple of years ago, I got to Manchester, on my own, after midnight. No way of getting back, unless I got a taxi.
I phoned my wife. She set off and got to the M56, on the M6, and the exit was blocked.
Then, 2 hours later, she rang me to say she was lost ......... in Macclesfield!

Tonker

You need to book a local taxi firm, to pick you up from the airport, some local firms specialise in doing airports, they enjoy doing them, and I am sure you would get a good price, but you do need to book in advance

The new Terminal 2 is not a patch on the old one. Long walk with many travelators not working and not enough bars and eateries when it gets back to being as busy as it was?

Grrrrrr

I would have had a free bus pass now, if the Tories (Cameron) had not raised the age from 60 to 66
