Anyroad up, Village looked fine and quite bustling last evening as I headed through.

Besides the food hygiene standards of restaurant, cafes or pubs does not reflect on the place or people of the town, city or a lovely village such as Standish.

Going to Alberts this afternoon to celebrate the 80th birthday of one of my friends. She is the last of our little group to reach this milestone. So beware Standishers, rampaging pensioners about.

Agreed Terry, and i'm sure a place such as Alberts will be addressing the rating as soon as. We have eaten in there although not since the lockdowns. We tend to eat Italian when we're out. Standish is a great place for a night out with all the pubs and restaurants there are nestled in the centre. You should have a ride up Basil, you may be pleasantly surprised.

LL,
Have you dined at Albert's? The only reason the Village Idiot posted was because he knows who provided the turf that was used there. There were quite a few comments but by all accounts it turned out just fine. Was someone on here last week telling us all he made a million pounds a day? Is that not pretentious?

The food hygiene rating is for the cleanliness of the kitchen, not the quality of the food. The food leaves a lot to be desired.

Wn1 Standisher.

The Mount. It may have a high rating for food hygiene but that rating does not extend to the quality of the food or how it's cooked or presented.
And the food gets a zero rating from me and I have tried it on more than one occasion. But never again.

Do you not understand the difference between food hygiene and the quality of the food you get.
Food hygiene is rated on the cleanliness of the kitchen and how the food is handled and not on the quality of the food or how good it is. All it means is it's safe to eat the food.
Let's put it this way. It would never get a Mitchelin Star.

Your right, it won't.

System or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and the food safety officer has confidence that standards will be maintained in future"

No reports of any ill effects from the octogenarian group dining at Alberts yesterday.
The update 17th October for the Mount DOES NOT mean a new inspection or review has taken place. The last inspection is still March 2019.
Anything could have changed since that date just as things could have changed at Alberts during the short period since their last inspection, September 2021
Anyhow the octogenarians mentioned are raring to meet their next challenge.
p.s. checked the inspection rating of The Newcastle Copthorne hotel at which the same group stayed during September, that was also several years old.

Unlike the pretentious poster of that who didn't find it pretentious at all bragging how much more he earns in a day than pensioners get in a week. Says a lot doesn't it about these types, but without a moral compass their minds will justify anything. Tsk.
