Middle daughter buying an house off me and her indoors... Obviously at a greatly reduced price wishing her and her daughter and partner well. She has applied for and got a mortgage in principal. The sale is going through our solicitors who I have dealt with for 30yrs.
1. My solicitor requires I. D. from me and her indoors (Driving licence and Passport for both of us) due to money-laundering etc.. Done that...2. Daughters solicitor requires similar for her and partner... Done that.. Next..3. From my solicitor.. "why are you selling it so cheaply" have you been threatened.. Or otherwise forced or coersed to do this... Again money laundering questions.4... And bugger me if daughters solicitor ask same and require our I. D. and hand written letter from me and her indoors outlying same. To cap it all off I have to have ANOTHER mining survey done on the property... The previous 4yr old survey is attached to the solicitors deeds of the house... SCAM..
Having treated daughter... Son at home looking for a house... Which he has found in Orrell... We gave him a wedge as well the same amount to our daughters. And guess what.... Same rig-ma-roll as above case... Every bugger and his dog wants to know how a 25yrs old lad can afford it. More I. D. Producing and writing of letters to EXPLAIN his fortunate position. You can't give it away anymore without some person wanting to know the un's and out's of a Frogs Axxx.

What they want is, for you to get old and go into care, then the vultures gather overhead and want money for you care @ £1000 per week and for Mrs Biker, another £1000 per week, then when you snuff it, In come the probate solicitors, death tax inspector, then a funeral directors, a flower salesman and wake organizers, If there's owt left, your son gets a bit then,

If you want to open a new account then you have to take a picture of yourself and a picture of your passport/driving licence no matter how long you have been with them

b. b.. What I did have has now gone... They have both been given a good start and I've towd em both.... "That's your lot" what's left I will spend on booze and motorbikes... The rest I'll waste.

About two month ago went to my solicitor to make out a new will so the powers that be couldn't take everything to pay if we go in a nursing home, did get it sorted but not the way I wanted and that was,

To sell my house to my son like they do with equity release for 50 thousands pound and him take over all the maintenance and running cost for everything till we both passed away then he got everything,
but no you can't do that as your selling the house under the market price, how about giving it him under the 7 year plan, that also wouldn't stand up even after 7years if you have to go into a home,
---So as you say YOU CAN'T GIVE IT AWAY----

The mortgage provider could ask for a full structural survey of the property to be done, at your daughter's expense.

There's always rigmarole with buying property, but it depends on your approach and what you know.

Get a mortgage and every man and his dog has to get involved. Estate agent, mortgager, Solicitor, British Coal, Land Registry, surveyor, local authority, electric test certificate, gas test certificate, energy test certificate, insurance agent, lessor check (in case you've built a conservatory and not told them!) ..... all legal requirements, eh. (?)

A couple of years ago my dear old mum moved into the granny flat to be with us. All her banks accepted her change of address by post, (they sent a letter to the old address as a precaution) but not the Halifax. They insisted that she attend a branch in person with photo ID.
