I would like to inform the residents of the borough that should they ever want to order a BLACK rubbish bin , then do you know you can only do this by ordering one on a computer !!!!!! Yes that's right i rand today to request a black bin for the one i have is faulty,, the clown council lady told me """ Sorry sir i cannot deal with that the only way to get a black bin is ONLINE !!! At a cost of £37.70 . i said can i pay by cheque or call in and pay cash , at this point she became a bit testy and repeated """you can ony have a black bin by ordering and paying by credit card online sir """" At this stage i asked her what if i have not got a computer ????
Answer : Oh i don't know ,, you have to order one online ( black ) so i decided to hang up , it was getting fartooo hot to bother just thought you all would like to know if you didn't already .......GB

On another note..earlier this year the bin men rapped the top of my blue ( paper bin),I rang the council and a woman said it would be a while for a replacement..and I should just keep putting papers in for the time being,I said what about when it pours down..her reply was "Oh I didn't think of that"..I eventually got one three months later.
I must add in no way am I having a dig at the hard working bin men.

From my FBWho do I complain to when the bin men broke our black bin lid when they emptied it? I’ve requested a new bin through the council, and they want me to pay them £37.50 ???? are you having a laugh!! I’ve emailed them but it’s been a week now and no response.
I’m sorry but we pay bloody council tax. Why should we pay for a bin that they broke? My blood is actually boiling. The website says that they should leave a card if they’ve damaged the bin. Guess what, no card!
I requested 3 small bins in exchange for my 3 large ones & totally free of charge

Last week was blue bin day. One of my neighbours left a cardboard box at the side of his blue bin because the bin was full. After the bin was emptied the cardboard box was still there How hard would it have been to throw the box into the wagon

What is the point of getting all worked up? Black bins have had to be paid for, for years.

Angelwood GB did not damage his bin the operatives did when they emptied it He should not have to pay for a replacement. Gb Get onto your local councillor or take a bag of rubbish to the life centre along with a newspaper reporter and leave the bag of rubbish and say you have nowhere to put the rubbish because you have no bin

GB doesn't mention anywhere that the binmen broke his bin, just that it is faulty?

True..but it was faulty...read NJs comment, she knows someone who has to pay after the bin men broke it but she has to pay...it just isn't right.

Anglewood; It was when the bin men had gone i found it broke but the person at clowncouncil said that unless i can prove that they broke it i will still have to fork out £37.70 so thats where i am ....GB.

Ah right I see. A while back they split mine down the front and I got a free replacement. I didn't have to prove the bin men did it.

Around five years ago the Council trialled 360 degree cameras on two bin lorries with a view to rolling them out across the fleet. I don’t know what recommendations came from the trial but if cameras are fitted to the lorries they would provide the answer for GB.
When the bin men broke our blue bin lid it was replaced straight away when I told them it was broken when being emptied.
