Did anyone watch it last night on Channel 4 , I have just watched it now, and it explains how a Government task force, led by Kate Bingham developed a vaccine in months rather that the usual 10 or more years

They didn't "developed a vaccine in months rather that the usual 10 or more years".
The vaccine had been undergoing development for years. Long before Covid 19 emerged.
They didn't 'start from scratch', regardless of what 'the media' try to tell us!

Gaffer has already said how they did it, and in this documentary, the actual members of the task force explain how they got it from the lab, and into people's arms.

I couldn't care less what Gaffer said. The 'Journal of Biomedical Science' knows a whole lot more than him because he's not a Biomedical Scientist.

Vaccines against coronaviruses were being developed since the 2002 outbreak. That's 18 years!
And they say, "On the basis of the knowledge and information gained from preclinical studies with SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV13, the spike protein was identified as an antigenic target for the development of a vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 at a very early stage".

Translated, that means - "the work carried out in the 18 years, from the 2002 outbreak, to date, played a major part in developing the latest vaccine in a comparatively short time".

But there had never been a successful Coronavirus vaccine, there we're over 200 firms developing a vaccine for Covid 19 so the first task was to narrow it down to which firm was making the vaccine most likely to work.

The documentary wasn't an 'Horizon' style science documentary, about what was done in the lab.

I don't care what the documentary was.

The vaccines were ALL developed by individual bioscience companies, Worldwide, over a period of, AT LEAST, 18years.

Recorded fact cannot be overridden by 'pat on the back men'!

Let us all be delighted that there seems to be a way out of the situation we have all been burdened with for the past year or more.

Some damned clever people came up with a solution that we all hope will see the return of normality and I applaud them irrespective of how long or short their method of resolution took to discover.

These are a pre-designed 'starting point' which scientists develop and use for new vaccines against same family viruses.
The Covid 19 vaccines being used now were made from existing "Classic Platforms" obtained by continuous development.
