Holidays Abroad

Started by: GOLDEN BEAR (6556)

Reading today about all those spineless foreigners of spain and italy to name just two , bleating and begging for all the BRITS to come over this summer and start spending again they say i quote ;; "WE NEED THE BRITS "
Well i do appreciate people in our country desperately wanting to go on holidays again , as for i ,, I would just wish to tell them to go and get stuffed and multiply , these are the same countries who have opposed us wanting to leave the EU for the last god knows how many years , i know it will not happen but would n't be great to tell them no thanks we are staying home and spending our cash in our country even it be just for one year . G.B.

"YES it would be terrific if it happened, the two face Johnny Foreigners."

And there is a lot of them over here whom can't wait to board an aircraft to "Johnny Foreigners." country for a vacation in the sun.
Does that make them two faced?

I am not talking about holidays, it's the two faced EU members who are giving us sh*t about leaving their corrupt club but still want our money, they have ore faces than the town hall clock.

If its a stay at home holiday then lets stop in our own country, The Welsh and Scotland don't want us so to go to their countries now so when the restrictions are lifted I hope people say shove your countries and spend their money in England.

Myself and friends are booked on a four day cruise from Liverpool to the Scottish isles. No getting off the ship, so no spending ashore.

I’m booked for two cruises this month!
The first one, on the 16th, is from Plymouth to Santander. Then it’s Santander to Plymouth on the 24th. On the Pont Aven , a luxury cruise liner with a special crèche where lorries keep themselves entertained while we relax in the bar areas.
In between the cruises, we’ll be engaged in activities, including digging a large excavation, 10 x 5 x 1.5 metres, some concreting and, time allowing, building two tall gate posts! I can’t wait!

Done a very similar trip to that many many years ago on a cruise ferry, Southampton to Bilbao, two and a half days on a ship, which was great, but if yoo are prone to seasickness, that Bay of Biscay can be a bugger

Not been to my static in Bolton-le-Sands yet due to Lockdown etc... But will be there when "normality" resumes.
A group of 8 of us from my local club have been saving for the past two years for a 3 week trip to Canada... Its all first class that's why it's taking us 4yrs to achieve 2023 (in the fall) is our target. Her indoors wants 4 days in New Orleans as well... Looking forward to it... Pending any further Covid or similar disasters. So I won't be bothering the Spaniards or Eye Tiddly Eye Ties for the foreseeable future.

Billings Biker, this is the third trip on the Pont Aven.
First trip, we hit a wave as tall as a house and it smashed the front windows.
Second trip, half the interior was destroyed. I thought my number had come up!
Hopefully, this one will be calm and I can enjoy it.

you should holiday at home says GOLDEN BEAR !!!! right Bollocks to Spain Greece and Italy holiday in good old blighted Blighty.
People should think twice about taking their holidays abroad, and look to stay here in the UK instead, in the pissing rain getting blown around at a shit seaside resort left to go to ruin for the last 30 years.
“Everyone knows that the UK is a great place to holiday, and you can really plan in advance, providing your plans include rain, and wind.
“Obviously the prices might be a little higher due to every single one in the country trying to book a tiny caravan that’s a three-mile walk from the nearest beach.

I was in Eilat / Jerusalem / Eilat in 1988. Seem to remember the street food was something you filled full of meat/veg very tasty. Jerusalem was a bit daunting but managed to tour and see the Wailing Wall. Fighting the day after in the Golden Dome. A lovely country.

peter israel,
I flew direct from Manchester to Ovda. I think if you were on the beach you could see ( and I am not 100% sure) Egypt, Jordan and one other. Maybe Saudi Arabia. I remember going underwater to see the fish and coral formation. Someone told me that thin width of water had divers patrolling all the time in case of terrorists going either way. I think I walked as far as the Egyptian border. Everything was so compact, country wise, down there.

That is right, they have to keep their power stations on standby, in case the undersea electric cables fail for some reason, such as a break in the cables, or the French throwing a tantrum and taking their ball home

There is now a new airport open 2years ago with planes coming from Europe it's a pity that when you were here there was not yet peace with Jorden you could have visited Petra what is just over the border. I never stop in Eilat I cross into sinai to get to Dahab for the diving

We've changed our plans to Eurotunnel VP.
I've never seen vaccinations mentioned. The only mention is on the UK gov.co.uk website, and that only says "vaccinated, or not, you need to follow Covid Rules".
There's several forms you have to fill in regarding Covid, though. A 'locator form' and a 'no symptoms declaration'. No Covid test required now for France, but mandatory for Spain. It's free at Burtonwood Services.
We still have to fill the C88 S.A.D. 16 pager in, though, to declare the goods we are carrying.

I'm a bit worried about Spain, though, because them mossas can be funny buggers. They'll be stopping folk right, left and centre at the first town just over the Spanish border, Les, and they might pull us over, wanting to "leer documentos de trabajo" ("look at documents of work").
If they turn us back, we know a 'back road', behind a small train station, other side of Andorra, which is paso de banditos. It takes us through the campo and onto the Barcelona road!

I'll fetch thee some rock back!
