has anyone got or had 1 of these robot vaccums or know anyone who,s had 1 . is there any good 1s or any that shud be avoided . price will be a factor & i,d like your opinions on them ? .

At NO TIME did I back up LG with regards to his reference to Fireplace. This is made up nonsense. In fact, if you trawl through my historical posts you will see that I did not condone his verbal treatment of FP at any point in the slightest, quite the opposite.

For the record FP was a great bloke who I had the pleasure of meeting and I regarded, and still regard, LG's comments as unacceptable.

has anyone got or had 1 of these robot vaccums ? most of my friend have! I was going to get one but i have a dog and you set the robot to when your not home and it travels around the house using infra red so not very dog friendly also not good on dog hair or carpet but if you have a tile or wood floor go for it

I have observed that it is tangled/wrapped hair that has brought about the death of floor-cleaning attachments for vacs. I suspect folk are lax at keeping them free from such fouling, and perhaps fail to notice the fall-off in effectiveness because of its gradual progressive accumulation. (The frog in hot water analogy).

I have to admit that my vacuum cleaners have had their floor cleaning attachments replaced/ renewed. So I too am, it would seem, subject to this laxity.

The real question is whether the said device actually prevent this from occurring: an empirical question, only likely to be answered by testing it out.

It could be a gimmick, after all, 'Which' recently released a report claiming that 'Washing Machines DO NOT live longer with Calgon', so manufacturers claims need to be taken with a pinch of salt or two (Thousands) They long ago sussed that they do not need to have furnished a solution to a need, but just have us believe that they have done so, in order to fleece us of our dosh.

I have 2 Roombas remote vacuums and they're brilliant. Vacuum every day now and the carpets have never looked better. Replacement filters etc. are really cheap on Amazon too.

I check regularly for anything that may have wrapped around the brushes.
Cotton is one of my worst offenders, as I do quite a bit of sewing.
