Yes, as an X smoker and living in Scotland, I agree with what you say Gary. The pubs seem much cleaner now, and most pubs have provided the smokers with a gazebo and patio heaters in their Beer Gardens.

Here in Aus. (if I may mention that part of the world!) we have had no smoking in restaurants for a couple of years now and we had the same thing. Businesses up in arms - 'we will loose all our customers', 'we will go broke'. Guess what? All still there and got the non-smokers as customers who can now go out for a meal and taste their food instead of cigarette smoke. Long live the smoking ban in public places.

I'm a smoker, keep tryin to pack it in, wish they'd make it easier and ban it everywhere lol.
I rarely go out, but if I do, I want to be able to smoke if I choose. Most places designate an area for smokers outside, I don't mind using them. I went to scotland for a week last summer. Was no smoking in the bars etc, I honestly didn't mind, it was nicer , I popped outside and had a couple of cigs throughout the night, I smoked far less than usual on a night out which was a bonus.
